Singles service for LGS
Sell the singles you never had to buy.
15 percent, on the price on the screen
Your counter gets a screen with our whole singles catalog on it. A customer asks you for a card, you find it and reserve it, and we deliver it to your shop. You keep 15 percent of every card that goes out the door, and you never spend a dollar to stock it.
Joining costs nothing and there is no minimum. Your commission is 15 percent of the price the card was reserved at, and it is locked to that price the moment the card goes in the cart, so you know what the sale earns while the customer is still standing there. You collect the full amount from your customer, keep your 15 percent, and settle the balance with us when we deliver.
How a sale runs
- Open a cart in the customer's nameA first name is enough. You can keep as many carts open as you have customers, and a cart stays open across visits.
- Search the catalog togetherThe screen is built to be read by a clerk and a customer at the same time. It shows one price, the one your customer pays. Your commission is never on that screen.
- Reserve the cardThe copies come off our marketplaces that second. Nobody else can buy them. There is no expiry and nothing to renew.
- Offer the price guard, if it suitsOne question, 99 cents, answered per card.
- We pull the cards and bring them to youAs often as daily. Every cart downloads as a spreadsheet with each card, its price, any guard fee, and your commission on every line.
How the price guard works
Our price is our own number, and no hand sets it. Software works it out from a few data points, the card's market price among them, and sets it again every hour. It has priced thousands of cards through to a sale, and those sales are what it has been corrected on.
Reserving a card locks the price on the screen. The price guard is a paid option on top of that lock: for 99 cents on a card, you stop paying the locked price and start paying whichever is lower, the lock or our price on the day, for the next 72 hours.
- The price can only move downIf our price rises, you pay the price you locked. If our price falls, you pay the fall.
- You answer once per card, at the counterThe clerk asks one question as each card goes in, guard or no guard, and your answer is fixed for that card. Up to 4 copies of one card move as one price, so one fee covers them.
- It is offered on cards from $10A flat fee is not worth paying on a cheap card, so below $10 the question is not asked.
- It runs for 72 hours and then freezesCollect the card inside that window and you pay whichever price is lower at that moment. If you do not collect it in time, the guard freezes at the price it closed at, provided that is below the price you locked.
- The fee is 99 cents and is not refundableYou pay it at the counter when you say yes. If the card is cancelled it goes back on sale and the fee stays with us, unless we are the ones who cannot produce the card, in which case it comes back in full.
The guard never reduces your commission
Your 15 percent is worked out on the price the card was reserved at, whatever the guard does afterwards. The guard gives a hesitant customer a reason to commit today, and it turns a price cut of ours into good news you get to deliver at the counter. It costs your shop nothing: the 99 cents is the customer's and passes through to us.
| Situation | Card settles at | Guard fee | Customer pays | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guard on, our price falls to $8 | $10.00 down to $8.00 | $0.99 | $8.99 | $1.50 |
| Guard off, our price falls to $8 | $10.00 | none | $10.00 | $1.50 |
